I get a buzz out of helping our clients run their businesses: better, simpler or cheaper. In fact I’m never happier than when I am hunting down a cloud or online solution which will take the grunt work out of a client’s business. For me helping our clients is so much more than saving them tax, it’s about freeing them up to do more of what they love – whatever that may be, business or otherwise.
When I set up Kinder Pocock in 2005, my aim was to build a practice which was down-to-earth and accessible to our clients. Over time this has evolved into a deep-seated desire (and culture throughout the firm) to continually wow our clients with our high levels of client service.
I was one of the first accountants to move to the cloud. In 2012 I started researching cloud solutions and discovered Xero and G Suite. I haven’t looked back, and every day since then has become more rewarding and much more fun. For me, the challenge is no longer about getting our clients onto the cloud, but getting them to enjoy the full benefits which comes from running their whole business on the cloud. (Not just their accounting software.) To be named Xero UK’s Most Valued Professional in 2016 was a huge accolade, and I’m so proud of it!
Something surprising about me? Whilst travelling (many years ago!) I spent time working on an Israeli Moshav making fruit boxes, including Sharon Fruit boxes!
